Jeff Daniels on Spectrum West October 12, 2017
Actor and singer-songwriter Jeff Daniels will join Al Ross Thursday, October 12, 2017 on Spectrum West, which airs on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Ideas Network at 10 a.m. on 88.3 WHWC-FM/ Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW-FM/ River Falls. The program will also highlight the upcoming Chippewa Valley Book Festival, a conversation with comedian Mary Mack, and first show of the season for The Master Singers.
Ross will welcome Emmy award winning actor and musician Jeff Daniels to the show to preview his upcoming performance at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls on Halloween, October 31. Daniels and Ross will talk about his current musical projects, acclaimed television series “The Newsroom,” and sample music from his latest album “Simple Truths.”
Correspondent Jim Oliver will share a conversation with Judith Claire Mitchell, the author of “The Last Day of the War” and “A Reunion of Ghosts,” and the current Dorothy Draheim Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mitchell will be presenting at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire on Saturday, October 21 at 9:30 a.m. as part of the Chippewa Valley Book Festival.
Comedian Mary Mack will be returning Spectrum West to talk about her recent travels and her upcoming comedy album. Mack will performing her standup show at The Plus in Eau Claire October 14 at 7 p.m.
Gary Schwartzhoff, director of The Master Singers, will join Ross in the studio to talk about the group’s history and its upcoming season. The group’s Silver Anniversary Season will kick off at the Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire with its show “America, My Home 2017” on October 15 at 12:30 p.m.
Spectrum West is a weekly program exploring the music, arts, and humanities in western Wisconsin. The show includes in-depth behind-the-scenes interviews and stories about area writers, musicians, theater, visual arts, and much more.
