Music Duo Lehto and Wright to be Featured on Spectrum West
John Wright from the duo Lehto and Wright which performs next month at the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts in Menomonie will be featured on Spectrum West this Friday, September 28 at 5 p.m. on 88.3 WHWC/ Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW/River Falls. Host Al Ross will also preview the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra season, the Chippewa Valley Museum’s American Indian Heritage Community Day, and a performance by The Britins at the Heyde Center in Chippewa Falls.
Lehto and Wright are a folk and rock duo, sometimes joined by drummer Matthew Jacobs, from Minneapolis. Wright will talk with Ross about the unique acoustic style of the group. Lehto and Wright will be performing at the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 6.
Correspondent Jim Oliver and director Mike Cook will preview Thoroughly Modern Millie, the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild musical which opens October 4 at State Theatre in Eau Claire.
Ivar Lunde Jr, musical director of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra, will discuss its 15th anniversary season starting at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire Saturday, September 29. The concert is titled ‘Mostly Baroque’ and features the music of Bach, Haydn, and Vivaldi.
Saturday, October 6th, is American Indian Heritage Community Day at the Chippewa Valley Museum. We’ll talk with Dr. Lawrence Martin, Director Emeritus of American Indian Studies/UWEC who is one of the speakers during the event which runs from 11AM to 4PM.
Spectrum West is a weekly program exploring the music, arts, and humanities in Western Wisconsin. The show includes in-depth behind-the-scenes interviews and stories about area writers, musicians, theater, visual arts, and much more. It is heard weekly on Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. on Ideas 88.3 WHWC/Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW/River Falls.
